Slavery was hard for people from Africa. Slavery started in the early 16^th hundred when a Dutch ship brought about 20 African slaves to North American to pick tobacco in plantation. In the 17^th and 18^th centuries was when slavery really started. If there were no slaves American now would not be a country and it would not be the richest country in the world because the slaves helped the people pick crops and build the economy. In the 17^th century it was legal to have a slave helping you pick crops.  Today, slavery is illegal all over the world. In the 17^th century there was a machine called the cotton gin and people would use the machine to pick cotton and they would need more people to package the cotton to sell so they need more slaves. Sometimes the owner of the slaves would trade the slaves for Tobacco, cotton and sugar. The slaves also got treated badly suck as being hit by whips and they had to were shackles. This is why slavery was hard for people from Africa.

I will be talking about what is a political cartoon. A political cartoon is a kind of cartoon that tells people what’s happening around the world, except in a fun way. They are sometimes called an editorial cartoon. There are two kinds of cartoons. One shows real life situations called a social message and the other is a political cartoon that shows government issues. The cartoon should have a drawing or a comic strip. The cartoons are found in news papers or websites. An editorial cartoon usually contains a symbol or a metaphor. A cartoon usually has a funny picture of people called caricatures. The cartoons are found in news opinion section of papers or websites. A cartoon usually contains a symbol or a metaphor. For an example a symbol is like a name tag to tell who you are.  This is what a political cartoon is.

My school is celebrating Movember. When it is Movember the announcements at school will give students some clues about where the little moustache men are. The little moustache men are little pictures of men wearing a moustache. After we find the little moustache men we take it to a teacher and he/she will give us a moustache and we wear it. When we get the moustache we put it on and the teacher will take a picture of us wearing a moustache. Then we will get a certificate for finding a moustache and raising awareness for men’s health. Movember is done because it is used for raising money for cancer and brings awareness to men’s health. Movember is something that happens in November. These are some of the things my school is doing for Movember.
